There are many beautiful estates and manors dotting around the English countryside which earlier hosted the elite of England and are now unique hotels. From Cornwall to Bath, these English stays feature well-manicured garden grounds and antique furnishings. Here are three of the best:

Cragwood Country House Hotel

This is a 23-room hotel which is located near Lake Windermere. It is situated on a 22-acre plot and is an Edwardian estate. One great advantage of this is that it’s dog-friendly, and has great sitting areas on some sprawling lawns which overlook the lake. It also has a dining room, 3 lounges and a bar. The rooms have some of the best furnishings you’ve ever seen, as well as some flat-screen TVs. The decor is a little outdated, though.

One Three Nine Bath

The best way to describe this hotel is a high-end bed & breakfast. It is located in a Victorian House, and overlooks the center of Bath. The interiors are spotless, and have a contemporary fresh finish. There are 10 rooms which are all individually styled, and vary in character and size. The in-room amenities here include some really nice touches like Molten Brown products, and even fresh milk that can be used for coffee. Some even have hot tubs and four-poster beds.

Paradise House

This 11-room Georgian hotel is upscale to say the least, and is set with a charming honey-coloured limestone. It is just 10 minutes away from Bath. It is a bed & breakfast, and is the perfect example of English country houses which offer great hospitality. It has an amazing lounge with some great wing back chairs, and some arched windows with a manicured garden, mature trees, and some peaceful tables for dinner. The rooms are cozy and come with electric kettles, comfy armchairs, sofas, and flat-screen TVs.
